Welcome to the new home of SUCCESS. This beautiful 80,000-square-foot headquarters is the nerve center for all of the great stories you read in our magazine and at SUCCESS.com, and its clean, classic look is the inspiration for the ongoing redesign you’ve noticed within our pages over the last few months.
The new offices at 5800 Democracy Drive in Plano, Texas, just north of Dallas, provide more than a place to work. The building represents an investment in our people and, in turn, an investment in you, our readers. We’re proud of it.
And for almost 30 years, our parent company, SUCCESS Partners, has been proud to provide its clients and the public at large with innovative growth solutions, from consulting to marketing materials and publications focused on personal development. The people who rely on us are devoted to accelerated growth and trust in our expertise to help them reach their goals. At SUCCESS and SUCCESS Partners, we believe in the power of continually learning, advancing and evolving. To secure that progress, our leaders realized the need to create an atmosphere that promotes achievement and innovation.
In the words of our founder and CEO Stuart Johnson, “the new building is a catalyst to take our work to a new level, which will inspire and empower our clients and readers to do the same.” A lot of thought, planning and research went into selecting the location. The Legacy area of Plano is a flourishing business community, home to the likes of Dr Pepper Snapple Group, USAA, Intuit, HP Enterprise Services. Liberty Mutual, FedEx, JPMorgan Chase, Toyota and Ericsson.
When it came time to design the interior space, our leaders visited over 25 buildings, looking for inspiration, and took the best ideas from each one back to Corgan, the architecture firm we partnered with for the building design. The firm incorporated our ideas, spirit and vision into every aspect of the building, from the location of the offices to the layout of the break area, to create an environment that made people want to be in the building and excited to come to work every day. The finished space is a masterpiece permeated by natural light, unobstructed views, and an open concept where everyone is easily accessible for collaboration and relationship-building. What we have now is so much more than just a place to work. It’s a dynamic environment that fosters maximum productivity, creativity and inspiration, exemplifying our brand, our culture and our future.
Most of the company moved into the new headquarters in Fall 2015. But we waited until now to unveil the building to you because our April 2016 magazine happens to be perfectly aligned with the values that led to our new home.
It’s the issue that celebrates your investment in yourself by creating a home, a community, a world and even an individual mindset that allows you to reach your greatest potential.
Where do you reside? Your answer might be the state, town or neighborhood where you spend most of your time. Your home address may have even come to mind. In the April 2016 issue, we offer you the inspiration, motivation, perspective and know-how to make the most of each of those localities. You’ll learn about the empowering journey of a writer who devotes herself to keeping her space clean; you’ll learn about a New Jersey high school where entrepreneurial innovation seems to have spiked the water fountains; you’ll even learn tricks for working from home—just as our cover gal Kendra Scott did when she founded her jewelry empire from a spare bedroom. In the modern economy, your home is your office, and vice versa. You need to feel free, yet purposeful, whether you’re at work or at play.
And in truth, you don’t live within any ZIP code, on any particular street, or between any four walls. Your home is way bigger—way more beautiful and impressive!
We all live in the space between our ears. Each of us has the personal ability to create a world we love. We have the power to bring happiness, health, growth and purpose to our lives and those of the people we love. That’s the idea that inspired the April issue.
