Dear SUCCESS Family,
As I sit down to write what will be my final newsletter for SUCCESS, I find myself thinking about the brand’s impact on an industry that is constantly on the move. Our remarkable team of writers, editors, designers, technicians, creators and vibe coders always makes a concerted effort to weave technology, storytelling, entrepreneurship and human potential together to enhance the lives and businesses of our readers. This has not only moved the needle in our industry—but also my journey as a seasoned journalist.
I have seen media and publishing undergo a remarkable transformation. The tools we use today to create, distribute and consume content have evolved at a pace few could have imagined even a decade ago. Artificial intelligence, digital platforms and emerging technologies continue to reshape how stories are told and how audiences engage with ideas. Yet amid all this innovation, one truth remains unchanged: People are still searching for inspiration, wisdom and connection. Technology may change the delivery, but purpose remains the foundation.
That belief was reinforced during the cover shoot for our <a href="https://mysuccessplus.com/product/success-magazine-jul-aug-2026-robert-herjavec" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">latest issu</a><a href="https://mysuccessplus.com/product/success-magazine-jul-aug-2026-robert-herjavec" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">e</a>, featuring entrepreneur, investor and Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec. Spending time with Robert and interviewing him for this edition was both professionally rewarding and personally transformative. While much of our conversation centered on business, leadership and digital security, what resonated most deeply was his perspective on risk.
Robert spoke candidly about the moments in life when certainty is impossible and the only option is to trust yourself enough to leap. He shared how growth often requires moving toward opportunity before you feel fully prepared, following your instincts even when the outcome is unclear and allowing your heart—not just your fears—to guide major decisions.
As I listened, I realized his message extended far beyond entrepreneurship. It was about honoring your calling.
For years, I’ve had the privilege of helping shape the editorial voice of SUCCESS magazine and the broader SUCCESS ecosystem. Together, we’ve celebrated founders, visionaries, creators and leaders who dared to pursue something bigger than themselves. Through their stories, I’ve often encouraged readers to embrace change, take calculated risks and believe in their potential.
This summer, it is my turn.
After four incredible years, I will be stepping away from my role at SUCCESS. It is a decision filled with gratitude, excitement and yes, a bit of uncertainty. I am deeply honored to have contributed to the SUCCESS legacy and to have worked alongside an exceptional team dedicated to serving our audience, especially our Managing Director and Publisher, Glenn Sanford. Your trust in me to manage your vision during these changing times has meant the world to me.
While I may be leaving the creator’s seat, I won’t be going far. I’ll be watching from the sidelines—this time as a consumer rather than a creator—cheering on the brand, the community and the stories that continue to inspire millions.
Most importantly, Robert’s interview gave me the courage to recognize something I had perhaps known all along: There is an entrepreneur in me too. His words reminded me that sometimes the next chapter begins the moment you decide to trust yourself enough to take the leap.

Dear SUCCESS family,
I recently watched The Devil Wears Prada 2, and once again found myself drawn to Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly—the poised and impeccably styled editor-in-chief of Runway. She’s a character that has always resonated with me, not just for her presence, but for what she represents: the weight of responsibility, the constant pressure and the expectation to see around corners before anyone else does. It’s a role I understand deeply because it’s one I’ve lived throughout my career: navigating high expectations, making difficult decisions and continually balancing vision with reality in an industry that rarely stands still. And right now, it’s moving faster than ever.
Publishing has always evolved, but the pace of change today feels different. With the rise of AI and the expansion of content creation into a broader, more democratized sphere, the lines around who creates, curates and leads are shifting. Barriers are lower, voices are more abundant and the landscape we once knew has become more dynamic—and at times, less predictable.
I feel that tension every day. The pull to uphold standards while embracing innovation. The responsibility to evolve without losing the essence of what makes this work meaningful. It’s both energizing and, at moments, deeply challenging.
In many ways, May mirrors this moment. It’s when change becomes visible and obvious. Across our business, we’re in the midst of a strategic realignment. Priorities are shifting, partnerships are evolving and how we define alignment continues to change alongside the world around us. Business alignment isn’t static; it’s a living, breathing process shaped by both our internal values and the external landscape.
With that comes a renewed commitment to transparency.
Transparency isn’t always easy (especially during times of change) but it is essential. As we move forward, my commitment is to lead with both honesty and strength—qualities Miranda Priestly embodies so well.  Here at SUCCESS®, resilience has become a cornerstone of how we approach leadership and change. It's one of the greatest assets an entrepreneur can cultivate; not just through hustle, but through self-awareness, well-being, and the ability to lead yourself through uncertainty.
 This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a SUCCESS® magazine release celebration in Los Angeles, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. For decades, I've had the privilege of sitting across from some of the world's most influential voices—asking the questions, guiding the conversation, and bringing their stories to life. But this time, the experience came full circle.
 In front of nearly 200 of his closest friends and community, Tim Storey—our May/June cover star—turned the tables and interviewed me live on stage. To step out from behind the role of interviewer and into the space of being seen, heard, and invited to share my own story was humbling and deeply meaningful. There was a genuine connection that went beyond a typical conversation which was trust, shared purpose, and authenticity in action.
 The room was alive with energy, inspiration, and a sense of collective momentum—a reminder that the work we do is bigger than any single story. It's about creating spaces where stories can be felt, lessons can be absorbed, and growth can happen.
 But what made the evening truly special was what it represented. This wasn't just a magazine release; it was a celebration of the SUCCESS brand itself. A platform built to elevate voices, share transformative ideas, and create community through storytelling.
 With Tim on our Resilience-themed cover, the event became a living expression of the message that resilience isn't just a skill to survive—it's a practice that allows you to show up fully, lead with intention, and connect with your community in a way that inspires and empowers.

 Business is evolving at a pace we've never seen before. Entire job categories are shifting. AI is reshaping workflows. Leadership itself is being redefined in real time. And still, even the most ambitious among us quietly hope that some things won't change too much.
 I see this tension every day in the stories that cross my desk, or through our new pitch app.
 There's a noticeable trend in the pitches we receive lately: everyone is chasing speed. "Ten hacks to automate your life." "How to scale overnight." "The AI tool that replaces your team." Efficiency has become the headline. Optimization is the hook.
 And yet, behind the scenes, we're saying no to more of those stories than you might expect. Not because innovation isn't important — it is. But because SUCCESS has never been about shortcuts. It's about substance. We're resisting the race to publish what's flashy in favor of what's foundational. We're choosing depth over noise. Longevity over virality.

We're Turning Down More Stories Than You'd Think — Kerrie Lee Brown

Dear SUCCESS family,
 If there is one lesson my career in media has reinforced again and again, it is that long-term success is rarely about getting it right the first time. It is about knowing when to pause, reassess, and pivot.
 At least, that is what my inner Kerrie voice reminds me of every time I want to crawl into a hole and temporarily opt out of reality. Which, surprisingly, happens a lot.
 When I stepped into my first leadership role at a health and fitness magazine in my 20s, publishing looked very different. Print was dominant. Digital was emerging. Social media had not yet redefined how audiences connect with brands. The unspoken rule was consistency above all else. Perfect the model and protect it.
 What experience taught me is that no model survives unchanged. Longevity requires evolution, not rigidity.
 That realization forced me to take a hard look at myself and commit to growing alongside the industry. I have navigated decades in a turbulent media landscape by staying willing to adapt, learn, and keep moving forward, even when the path was unclear.
 Today, that evolution looks different. It includes expanding my personal brand as a creator and advocate for women in business and life, while also serving as an ambassador for the iconic SUCCESS&reg; brand. Representing a legacy like this is both an honor and a responsibility. And yes, impostor syndrome still shows up.
 Every day.
 On the media front, I have watched audiences shift not only where they consume content, but how and why. Every shift demanded more than a tactical adjustment. It required expanding the container I was operating from.
 As an entrepreneur, that expansion still comes with tension. I wrestle with decisions about investing in new tools, justifying expenses, and taking leaps before returns are guaranteed. That uncertainty never fully disappears, but it does become familiar.
 Pivoting, I have learned, is not a reaction to failure. It is a response to awareness. It is the moment you realize that growth requires new systems, new perspectives, and often a new level of courage.
 The brands and businesses that last share a few things in common:

 Coming back to the work grind this year, I feel more refreshed and grounded than ever.
 This past weekend, I flew to Kansas City to meet with a friend/executive coach because I knew I needed a reset. My heart has been racing a lot lately (a feeling I know all too well), and his guidance to "let go" of the old and "welcome" the new was just what the doctor ordered. All to say, I feel 100% lighter and ready to take on what's to come—without past pressures meddling with my internal peace.
 Enter… a BIG sigh of relief.
 This reset was a great reminder that our health and happiness are connected, and everything we build—personally and professionally—depends on honoring both.
 January is a natural time for reinvention: a time to turn the page, set new goals, and acknowledge the "kinks" and "glips" that come with building big ideas behind the scenes. And at SUCCESS&reg; Enterprises, we've certainly felt them.
 Some of the projects our team has been working on include:

 These projects are exciting but also humbling. Technology shifts, timelines move, and systems need refining. But progress is built on patience, problem-solving, and persistence—not perfection.
 As professionals with many, many stresses in our lives, it's important to understand that growth rarely moves in a straight line. I've transitioned from journalist to executive and from entrepreneur to leader of an iconic brand. And like many of you, I'm continually juggling the mindset and demands of playing multiple roles at home and in life.
 With that being said, my open invitation to you is to:

 As the holidays approach, I'm always struck by the unique blend of emotions that accompany this time of year. There's excitement—the warm gatherings, the fresh energy, the promise of new beginnings—but also deep reflection.
 What do I mean by this? Well…
 This season invites us to look back with honesty and gratitude, to acknowledge how far we've come, and to evaluate where we want to go next. And, for me, after more than three decades in the media business, this has been one of the most transformative years of my life. I've navigated a divorce, multiple house moves, shifting family dynamics, and the everyday work of keeping my kids happy, healthy, and grounded.
 At the same time, SUCCESS&reg; has undergone its own evolution through a corporate restructuring that required resilience, clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose. Through all of it, I'm reminded that change—though rarely easy—is often the greatest teacher.
 This year has also made me smile.
 I am grateful for the pivotal moments that have shaped both my personal and professional development. And, throughout these moments, I've had the privilege of connecting with recognizable personalities whose wisdom has encouraged me to keep going based on the truth that change is not only inevitable but also necessary.
 Some of the conversations that most influenced me include:

 Ever wonder what makes an article impactful? Why we choose certain people to highlight in our magazines over others? Well, it's not as tricky as you might think.
 After 30 years in the magazine business, my mantra remains the same: Create content that truly moves people. No matter who the audience, what the platform, or the time or season, stories that make you think, feel and take action are the ones that pique our interest.
 When we decide which voices or stories to feature, we always ask: Will this make a meaningful impact on our readers? Recently, after reading letters from readers who felt motivated to start new ventures or make bold career shifts because of something they read in SUCCESS&reg; magazine, I had one of those "This is what SUCCESS&reg; is all about" moments. It reminded me that our mission isn't just to report on success—it's to help people create it.
 As an editor and leader, I've learned that true thought leadership in today's digital age isn't about who speaks the loudest; it's about who speaks with authenticity and purpose. A modern-day SUCCESS&reg; leader is someone who:

 If you recognize me from the pages of SUCCESS&reg; magazine, you probably know how passionate I am about helping others grow professionally, personally and emotionally. What you might not know is that behind the scenes, I'm not just a content leader. I'm a mom. I'm a woman in business. And like many of you reading this, I'm constantly navigating the roller coaster of expectations, responsibilities, and yes—pressures.
 Let's be honest: being a mom is a full-time job. So is being a driven professional. Combine the two, and you've got a beautiful but demanding life that can take a toll on your mind, body and spirit.
 As the Chief Content Officer and Editor-in-Chief at SUCCESS&reg; Enterprises, I am incredibly proud of how we're evolving our brand and assets to meet the needs of today's professionals—especially as we move into a more AI-forward space focused on personal development. But with that innovation comes responsibility. Big decisions. Long hours. Endless meetings. And that ever-present mom guilt when I'm not fully present at home.
 The truth is, stress is inevitable. And I'm no stranger to what unchecked stress can do to a person.
 Years ago, at the height of my corporate climb—before joining SUCCESS&reg;—I experienced a heart attack. Yes, a real one. I was young, seemingly healthy, and pushing myself beyond the limits of what was sustainable. My body finally said, "Enough."
 That moment changed everything. It forced me to reevaluate not just how I worked, but why I worked. I had to slow down, prioritize differently, and embrace the idea that success doesn't always mean doing more—it means doing what matters, and doing it well.
 Now, as I lead our incredible team at SUCCESS&reg; and help shape the stories and strategies that empower our readers and Insider members, I do so with a renewed sense of purpose. I understand what burnout feels like. I know what it's like to feel torn between deadlines and dinnertime. And I've learned the hard way that being everything to everyone isn't sustainable—or necessary.
 So, to all the amazing women out there trying to juggle it all: You are not alone. You're doing better than you think. And it's OK to pause, reset and give yourself grace. Whether you're leading a boardroom, managing a household, or both—your well-being matters.
