Buying Back Your Time with Dan Martell

Dan Martell, entrepreneur and highly-rated business coach, wants you to build your empire by getting unstuck, reclaiming your freedom and buying back your time. He believes that as your business grows, so should your life.

Today, he talks with Brilliant Thoughts host Tristan Ahumada about filling up your calendar with only things that add energy to your life and make you income. He explains the buyback loop: a process that includes auditing your calendar and transferring low-value and energy-sucking tasks to another person, then filling that newfound time with more upper-level activities.

The perfect week should be one that is designed in a rhythm that works for you, which allows you to approach certain types of work energetically. Martell marks each calendar event in green for energy-giving or red for energy-sucking. He then puts a dollar sign to signify how expensive it is to pay someone else to do that task.

Martell also talks about transactional management versus transformational leadership—building the people that build the business.
