Bill Murphy is no stranger to struggling. The in-demand business coach had a difficult upbringing marred by competition and escapism. But he faced a choice: grow or stay stuck.
Driven to improve his situation, he developed biohacking routines and coping mechanisms like meditation and breathwork to build a life he loved for himself. “Part of building toughness is self-care,” Murphy explains in this episode of In the Details. “If you can take care of yourself, you can take care of things a lot better.”
Now, Murphy is a nationally recognized mortgage originator who has been a top producer for more than 25 years. Since 2017, he’s served as a business coach for the Fairway Ignite program and helps clients understand how to achieve a mindset primed for thriving, not just surviving.
Murphy and host Karen Allen touch on the power of self-compassion, mastering your negative psychological tendencies, increasing self-awareness through journaling and finding a supportive community. The healing process is long, and Murphy shares how radical forgiveness for his father and himself helped him get unstuck and start creating the most authentic version of himself.
