Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association, once allowed herself to succumb to the negative thoughts in her mind. She would talk herself out of achieving of her goals, and whenever she thought of a great idea, her limiting thoughts held her in place. But on her journey to create an incredible life, she realized that what happens in your head affects what happens in your life—and that she had to program her mind for success.

“People are missing out on incredible opportunities all of the time because of what’s going on in their head, because they are making bad decisions based off of really bad frame of mind,” she says.

Green says her own negativity lessened when she realized what was holding her back: She had to figure out what she wanted to do and who she needed to become to accomplish her goals. She needed to know why she was going after a specific goal instead of countless others. And then she had to program her mind to do it.

“Success is no accident; living an incredible life is no accident,” Green says. “You have to do it on purpose, and it starts by knowing exactly what it is that you want to achieve.”
