Coupons are no longer just junk mail. We’ve entered the era of modern couponing, according to Kiersten and Julien Saunders in this week’s episode of rich & Regular. They don’t like to pay full price for anything and believe you should be living the same.
“I would love to have the power to just declare the moment that we’re in as an opportunity to destigmatize and embrace couponing. The reality is that prices on everything are just completely out of control,” Julien says. “So paying more for something unnecessarily is not the flex you think it is. So do yourself a favor.”
It’s rare to see paper coupons nowadays, but coupons themselves have a strong presence online in the form of promo codes, cashback offers and more. Kiersten and Julien discuss tips and hacks for taking advantage of these modern coupons.
Credit cards can be used to find discounts, especially with apps like the AMEX app, which provides savings at local restaurants, hotels and more. There are additional credit card offers and no-annual-fee cards that can be used to help save you money. Loyalty programs and email lists are also good sources of coupon offers.
Kiersten and Julien also share how to take advantage of gift card promotions and save on travel, activities, groceries and more.
