I’m married and we have a baby girl, so every minute of my day is accounted for. Spending 20 minutes alone in silence reflecting is a real treat, and I try to do it often.

My perfect weekend day would start with exercising, ideally outdoors, with my husband or a friend, followed by coffee and breakfast. Then I would spend the rest of the day with my kids, either on a bike ride or at a nearby park. I love to travel, so a once-a-year type of treat is going to visit a new destination with my husband or a friend.

Top of Mind: How Do You Treat Yourself Despite Being an Entrepreneur With a Busy Schedule? It can be difficult to find time to do things for myself. Most of my focus is on the business, caring for my husband and my daughters, not on myself. I have to balance school activities and soccer practice with conference calls with advisors and business partners, fulfill customer orders and every other detail that goes into running a company. I’m mom, caregiver, CEO, secretary, shipping and fulfillment, business development. It’s a lot to juggle at once. Luckily I have always been able to wake up early so when I have time I treat myself with a good long run, quality chocolate and extra time with my girls.

Top of Mind: How Do You Treat Yourself Despite Being an Entrepreneur With a Busy Schedule? It’s important for me to feel that I’m constantly learning. This may sound counter-intuitive, but the more I learn, the less knowledgeable I feel. A little bit of knowledge is truly a dangerous thing because it drives a hunger for more. My curiosity grows day by day. I reward myself by indulging in my wide-ranging curiosities—whether it’s gardening, cooking or pop psychology. I love to read, and setting aside large chunks of guilt-free time to read novels is one of the most rewarding gifts I can give to myself. I relish the opportunity to lose myself in stories, to immerse myself in fictional characters that teach me about humanity.
